Twenty20 Competition

In 2009/10, the VWCA will run a Twenty20 Competition for all VWCA One Day Shield, Central, South East and North West grade teams, as well as female teams not currently participating in the VWCA. The competition will be a knockout format with prize moeny awarded to the winners and runners-up.

Competition Details

Dates

Round One - Sat 24^th/Sun 25^th October - 2pm

Round Two - Tue 17^th November - 5:30pm

Round Three - Tue 15^th December - 5:30pm

Semi Finals - Tue 16^th February - 5:30pm

Final - Mon 8^th March (Labour Day) - 2pm

Teams may negotiate to change the day of play as long as it takes place prior to the following round. The VWCA must be advised of any changes at least one week prior to match.

Affiliation Fees

Fees for non VWCA affiliated clubs will be $22.

How to enter a team

All VWCA One Day Competition clubs will automaticall be entered into the knockout draw. Registrations for non VWCA affiliated clubs close on Friday 2nd October. To register a team please contact the VWCA on 9653 1181 or vwca@cricketvictoria.com.au

Player qualification

Players who have played in the VWCA Premier Firsts or Seconds Competitions in 2008/09 or 2009/10 are ineligible to participate in the VWCA Twenty20 Competition. Any player who has played at Premier Firsts or Premier Seconds level in those seasons must seek written permission from the VWCA to participate.

To play in the VWCA Twenty20 Final, you must have played at least one game in the 2009/10 competition.

Match Balls

A new ball is to be provided by each fielding team. The type of ball shall be 142g leather.

Equipment

The home team is required to supply stumps, bails, boundary markers and scoreboard. Each team is responsible for their playing equipment.

Start Times

Round One - 2:00pm - Teams may negotiate start times. VWCA must be advised of any changes to start times at least one week prior to match.
All other rounds (Excluding Final) - 5:30pm
Final - 2:00pm - Teams may negotiate start times. VWCA must be advised of any changes to start times at least one week prior to match.

Uniform

Competing clubs will wear regular cricket uniforms, this can include coloured shirts, provided all players are wearing the same style of uniform.

Umpires

The Victorian Women's Cricket Umpires Association will supply umpires. Each team is required to pay $25 per game, per umpire. If there is only one umpire, the batting team is to supply a square leg umpire during their innings.

Scorers

Each team will need to provide a scorer. Scorebooks for non VWCA clubs will be provided by the VWCA.
